Use cases

Built for your stage of bidding.

Skim supports three stages of public sector bidding: first-time bidders winning a first contract, growing bidders turning referral wins into a formal pipeline, and mature teams lifting their win rate. The common thread is time — never enough of it, and too much of it spent on the wrong opportunities.

Frequently asked questions

Which stage of bidding are you at?

Which Skim use case fits my team?

It depends on your track record. First-time bidders have not yet won a UK or EU public sector contract. Growing bidders have won 1–10, mostly through referrals, and want to see the formal pipeline. Mature bidders have an established bid team — coordinators, writers and a planning cadence — and want to lift their win rate.

What is the difference between a growing and a mature bid team?

Growing teams bid opportunistically, often on referral-led work, and have won a handful of contracts. Mature teams have dedicated bid coordinators and writers and a regular planning cadence. If you have a bid coordinator and a forward plan, you are a mature team.

Can a first-time bidder win a public sector contract?

Yes. The common error is chasing public sector tenders before finding the ones a first-time bidder can realistically win. Skim surfaces opportunities that fit your profile and helps you start buyer conversations before the tender is published, which is where most first wins are decided.

Do teams move between use cases as they grow?

Yes. Most teams start as first-time or growing bidders and become mature over time as they add coordinators, writers and a planning cadence. Skim's plans scale with that journey, so the same platform supports each stage.
