Der öffentliche Personennahverkehr der Stadt Zwickau wird von der Städtische Verkehrsbetriebe Zwickau GmbH (SVZ GmbH) realisiert und erfolgt mit zwei Straßenbahn- und dreizehn Omnibuslinien. Im Jahr 2026 plant die SVZ GmbH auf der bestehenden Fahrzeugabstellfläche im Straßenbahnbetriebshof Schlachthofstraße den Neubau einer Straßenbahnabstellhalle. Im Rahmen dieses Vorhabens ist die altersbedingte Erneuerung von 17 Stück Weichen sowie ca. 1430 m Gleis erforderlich. Die Gleisinfrastruktur wird dabei entsprechend aufgewertet, um den zukünftigen betrieblichen und technischen Anforderungen gerecht zu werden. Zum Lieferumfang gehört die Lieferung von Gleisbaumaterial frei Baustelle für Straßenbahngleisanlage 1000 mm Spurweite bestehend aus: - 17 St. werksneuen Weichen inkl. Unterschwellung sowie Stellvorrichtungen und Erdkästen entsprechend LV, - ca. 2860 m Rillenschienen 60 R2 (gerade und gebogen), - 40 St. Schienenentwässerungskasten (Spurweite 1.000 mm), - 11 St. Gleisverbinder (110 mm²) und - 29 St. Schienenverbinder (110 mm²).
