Overview
The aim of the research is to ensure UK interests are represented at the CEN TC 460 Food Authenticity, that knowledge sharing occurs and the maintenance of expert links with the CEN community following EU exit. The research will provide resource allocation for members of Fera Science Ltd to represent Defra interests. The UK have been building their participation at the CEN (the European Standardisation Body) Food Authenticity Technical Committee over recent years. Working with international partners to deliver science-based food standards to protect consumers and facilitate fair practices in global trade, promoting UK/Defra policy priorities. The UK has a significant body of relevant analytical expertise, experience and methods, developed under Defra’s food authenticity programme, that contributes to this work.
