Overview

The Government Commercial Agency has awarded a framework agreement for Mobile Voice and Data Services 2 (MVDS2), valued at £1.5 billion, to ten suppliers including British Telecommunications Limited, Vodafone Limited, Virgin Media Business Limited, and others. MVDS2 replaces the expiring RM6261 agreement and comprises three lots: Mobile Catalogue and Optional Services, Mobile Solutions, and Telecommunications Audit and Advisory Services, maintaining the existing competitive airtime offering through a rationalised structure. The framework leverages new procurement mechanisms under the Procurement Act 2023 and will operate until December 2026 when the current MVDS agreement expires.
