    Karlskoga är en anstalt med cirka 177 platser i säkerhetsklass 2. Anstalten ligger tre kilometer från Karlskoga centrum. Anstalten togs i bruk 1984 och hade då 44 platser. År 1994 byggdes en ny avdelning där 32 platser tillkom. År 2022 öppnades ytterligare 36 platser genom att anstalten fick ett modulhus. Därutöver har anstalten sedan år 2021 ökat sina platser genom dubbelbelagda rum och är fortfarande under ständig ökning. Anstalten i Karlskoga har pekats ut som en lämplig anstalt för expansion med hänsyn till geografiskt läge, möjlighet till rekrytering samt att mark finns för utbyggnad. Expansionen planeras öster om befintlig anstalt, utanför befintligt perimeterskydd. Marken är relativt plan, den dominerande jordarten är lera och sandig morän. Delar av den planerade exploateringsytan har undersökts där man påträffat föroreningar överstigande riktvärdet för Farligt avfall (FA). Omfattning Entreprenaden omfattar: • 2st Typhus B2 (Bostadshus med 40 bostadsrum/hus. 4 våningar inkl. källare.) • Administrationsbyggnad (multifunktionsbyggnad innehållande centralvakt, bevakningscentral, personalytor m.m. 3 våningar inkl. källare) • Industri och teknikbyggnad (sysselsättning för klienter + teknik för fastigheten) • Komplementbyggnader: Kylcentral, tryckstegringsstation, miljöhus, carport och omlastningscentral. • Ombyggnationer: Storkök, konferens och tvätteri. • Mark och infrastruktur inkl. stängsel, fordonsgrindar, gånggrindar. Nyproduktion planeras till ca 16 300 kvm BTA. Ombyggnationer planeras till ca 700 kvm BTA.
