Overview

The Children’s Court Advocate (“CCA”) pilot seeks to improve how the voice of the child is heard and considered in private family law proceedings. The aim is to ensure children are supported with clear, accessible information about the legal process, and are given meaningful opportunities to express their views in a manner appropriate to their age, development, and individual needs. The pilot will focus on the following objectives: • Provide tailored, child-friendly information to help children to understand what is happening and what to expect; and • Create a structured and supported mechanism through which the child’s views are heard.
