9343 (7806-02) DART+ Enabling Works: Heritage Investigations

The proposed architectural heritage surveys covered by this Contract aim to address the recommendations contained within the Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs) for DART+ West and South-West prepared in 2022 and 2023 respectively as part of the Railway Orders for both projects. The EIARs for both routes identified a number of significant assets (including bridges, retaining walls, signal boxes and level crossings) that require survey and recording by an architectural heritage specialist/heritage architect to inform the future design of interventions as part of the DART+ project works. The purpose of undertaking these advance works is to ultimately de-risk the project’s construction programme. An important part of this work includes 2no signal boxes that require detailed survey to support the DART+ project’s consultation with Dublin City Council (DCC), as they are intended to be removed and re-built elsewhere.
