Call for Tender for the Provision of Blood-based Fish Health Assessment with Data Analysis and Reporting

Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM) awarded a contract valued at €201,440 on 25 June 2026 for blood-based fish health assessment services to support the Irish finfish aquaculture industry. The scope includes generating fish health data through non-lethal blood sampling with focus on gill, liver, and pancreas function across various environments and complete growth cycles, developing an early warning system for farmers, integrating multi-source data to support production decisions, and presenting results via a digital platform. The contractor will assess temporal trends in fish health, the impact of stressors such as water quality, the effectiveness of remedial actions, and the potential benefits of new technologies for the aquaculture supply chain.
