Request for Tenders under Open National Procedure for the Modernisation of a 400kN Servo-Hydraulic Universal Testing Machine for Trinity College Dublin (TCD)

Trinity College Dublin has awarded a contract worth €82,000 on 5 June 2026 for the modernisation of a 400 kN servo-hydraulic universal testing machine used by the Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering discipline. The scope includes replacing the obsolete servo-controller with a modern digital control system, upgrading to modern software and PC workstation, calibrating load cells and LVDTs, replacing hydraulic hoses, servicing or replacing servo valves, and installing safety upgrades including an electronically controlled hydraulic isolation manifold and emergency stop system. The upgraded system must support static and dynamic testing in compression and tension with data acquisition at 1000 Hz and comply with EN ISO 7500-1 calibration requirements.
