Call for Tender for the Provision of Reporting and Analysis of European Aquaculture Consenting Processes

Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM) sought a detailed analysis and report on aquaculture consenting systems across nine EU countries: Scotland, Denmark, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Spain, Malta, France, and the Netherlands, examining regulatory and administrative processes governing the approval and licensing of fish, shellfish, seaweed, and other aquatic organism farming. The tender was awarded on 5 May 2026 for €79,975 to provide greater understanding of how these diverse national consenting frameworks operate and affect aquaculture growth.
