LA3322C - RFT for the Supply, Delivery, Installation and Commissioning of an Extrusion Bioprinter for University of Limerick (UL)

- Deadline
- Closed 7 July 2025
Overview
The University of Limerick request the supply of an Extrusion Bioprinter for the production of cell-laden soft materials to be used as in vitro culture systems. Extrusion bioprinting creates 3D structures by "printing" layers of biological materials that contain living cells, much like traditional 3D printers create structures with plastics. The process involves squeezing bioinks (substances comprised of cells and supportive materials) through nozzles, building up layers, and then cross-linking the layers to form solid constructs. This approach can fabricate functional organs, 3D tissues models, drug discovery systems, organs-on-a-chip, bioassays, biosensors, and food alternatives.
