LCCC is developing a tourism experience that will transform the economic, social, and cultural development of Newcastle West and the broader West Limerick region. With the development of WLTH—Fullers Folly, Newcastle West is poised to become a significant tourism destination, similar to Adare or Westport. It will also be a cohesive link to other tourism products across West Limerick. This project will help increase dwell time in Newcastle West and provide the catalyst for bringing together the Desmond Castle complex, the River Walk, the demesne, the town centre, and Limerick Greenway. It is proposed that the Folly should blend seamlessly into the main heritage complex at Desmond Castle and be presented to visitors as a unified experience rather than a separate attraction.
