Request for Tenders for ecological consultants to deliver a Long Term Strategy for the Management of National Parks and Wildlife Service owned woodlands in Glengarriff, Co. Cork.

The Department of Housing Local Government and Heritage awarded a contract to ecological consultants to develop a 100-year Woodland Management Strategy for National Parks and Wildlife Service owned woodlands in Glengarriff, Co. Cork. The strategy, based on an up-to-date ecological survey and assessment of current status, will identify conservation management requirements across zoned management areas, establish measures and timelines to achieve Favourable Conservation Status, and address threats including invasive species, large herbivore grazers, and exotic conifers. The contract was awarded on 11 June 2025 for 60,850 EUR, with fieldwork commencing Q3 2025 and the final strategy document due October 2026.
