Flexing Culture Membrane Bioreactor for Trinity College Dublin

Trinity College Dublin has awarded a contract for a computer-controlled flexing culture membrane bioreactor system capable of applying cyclic or static tensile strains to cells cultured in vitro. The system must simulate in vivo tissue strains across multiple cell types (muscle, lung, heart, bone, blood vessels, and tendon) with programmable frequencies, amplitudes, and waveforms including static, sinusoidal, cardiac, triangular, and square patterns, compatible with standard 6-well culture plates and capable of actuating multiple plates simultaneously. The contract was awarded on 9 June 2026 for €65,000.
