Overview

The installation on the complete oxygen ring main principally to the North and West of the Acute Hospital Campus both primarily in pipe ducted trenching but also up walls and over roofs of existing occupied hospital buildings and internal specialist pipework installations in occupied hospital buildings. Provision of a secure protective hoarding/fencing to the phased ducted trenching work zones and compound areas appropriate for use in a live constantly trafficked pedestrian and vehicular Acute Hospital Campus environment. In particular the Contractor must note the following:- - The project is located in the Campus of an extremely busy Acute Hospital Campus environment, with all circulation and activity areas immediately adjoining the ring main trenching site, heavily utilised by constant vehicular and pedestrian traffice as well as being used by several major and some relatively smaller construction projects proceeding thereon. - A live acute hospital environment is one in which inpatient medical and surgical services are provided for many different conditions and illnesses, with continuous nursing services. Typical services include Inpatient Scheduled Care, unscheduled/emergency care, Maternity Care Services, Outpatient and diagnostic services, supported by critical mechanical and electrical services. - The contract Works Requirements documents set out all the detailed requirements and restrictions, etc., under which the successful Contractor must operate in order to maintain the existing Acute Hospital buildings and Campus maintaining it fully and completely operational at all times. - The successful Contractor must comply with all of the requirements and protocols of the HSE-West for working on this Acute Hospital Campus including these dealing with Method Statements and National Guidelines for the Prevention of Nosocomical Invasive Aspergillosis, etc., during the civil ring main and specialist pipework installation works. - All waste materials to be taken and disposed of in a fully licensed dump facility in accordance with Galway City Council waste management requirements. The above is only a broad generic description of the works and Tendering Contractors should refer to the Works Requirements Drawings, Specifications and Schedules for the full extent of the project requirements.
