Overview

Donegal County Council is undertaking a project to gather information on the footfall on the many walks and trails available in the county for the public to enjoy the great outdoors and take in the beautiful scenery around Donegal. The purpose of monitoring the walks and trails is to establish usage levels for tourism purposes and to assist with funding applications for the repair and improvement of infrastructure that already exists. The installation of pedestrian monitoring equipment will provide the Council with live data on the usage of trails and walks across the county for trails in need of upgrading and those which have been upgraded.
