Provision of Mortuary services to HM Coroner for the County of Staffordshire

Stoke on Trent City Council has awarded a contract to University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust to provide mortuary services and post-mortem facilities supporting HM Coroner for Staffordshire. The service includes secure receipt, storage and release of deceased persons, post-mortem examinations for routine and complex cases, viewing and identification facilities for bereaved relatives and authorised observers, and support for digital post-mortem examinations. Operations run Monday to Friday 08:00–16:00 with out-of-hours on-call arrangements, accommodating hospital and community deaths across Staffordshire, including specialist cases such as bariatric and deaths in custody.
