NHS Essex Integrated Care Board has awarded a contract to GP Primary Choice Ltd for the delivery of lung cancer screening services in North East Essex and Suffolk, focusing on the lung health check component. Valued at £1,096,896, the contract commenced following ICB reorganisations in April 2026 and is based on a cost and volume model paying £41.80 per health check, with an expected 25,709 checks in 2026/27, plus provision of a clinical director. The service operates in partnership with primary care and refers appropriate patients to ESNEFT for low dose CT scans.
