Laser Induced Desorption System for Measuring First Wall Retention in STEP

UK Fusion Energy Ltd is seeking a supplier to undertake concept design of a laser-induced desorption system for measuring tritium retention in plasma-facing first wall materials for the STEP fusion power plant programme. The successful supplier will develop a design capable of operating in a fusion plant environment, accounting for constraints including neutron radiation, strong magnetic fields, thermal loading, and space limitations. This initial concept design phase is expected to inform subsequent detailed design, technology maturation, and testing activities leading to deployment within the STEP tokamak.
