Revitalising Lymington's Natural Defences: 2026 Innovation and Saltmarsh Restoration Campaign

The Crown Estate has awarded a £498,000 contract to Lymington Harbour Commissioners for the 2026 Boiler Marsh Beneficial Use of Dredged Sediment and Saltmarsh Restoration Campaign. The project involves saltmarsh habitat restoration and testing an innovative high-viscosity pumping method to place dredged sediment in an open-coast environment, with objectives to enhance coastal resilience, support biodiversity, and generate evidence for future natural flood management projects. LHC will manage delivery including environmental compliance, monitoring, stakeholder engagement, and reporting.
