Space Weather R2O Maintenance - University of Aberystwyth

The Met Office has awarded a £77,950 contract to Aberystwyth University for maintenance and support of space weather operational models developed under the SWIMMR programme, specifically the CORTOM solar wind boundary model and ACME automated CME detection tool. The work ensures these models remain reliable and operationally aligned with Met Office Space Weather Operations Centre requirements through September 2026 and beyond. Aberystwyth University provides continuity of technical support and incremental improvements to capabilities critical for geomagnetic storm forecasting and risk assessment.
