World Snooker Championships

Sheffield City Council has awarded a contract worth £88.89 million to World Snooker Limited for the organisation and hosting of the World Snooker Championship, with an exclusive direct award justified by World Snooker Limited's exclusive ownership and control of all commercial, operational and media rights to the Championship. The contract includes a planned £45 million investment to expand and modernise the Crucible theatre as the championship venue, funded through public grants and private donations, alongside commercial revenues generated for the Council from championship-related activities.
