Space Weather R2O Maintenance - University of Reading

The Met Office has awarded a contract to the University of Reading for £164,880 to maintain and advance space weather research-to-operations (R2O) capabilities following the SWIMMR programme. The work involves validating, integrating, and operationalizing academic space weather models for the Met Office Space Weather Operations Centre, with a target completion date of September 2026. The project will establish user requirements, define technical and scientific specifications for model onboarding, and support the transition of models from research platforms into operational forecasting systems.
