Northumbria University has awarded a 3-year service and maintenance contract for an Orbitrap ID-X Tribrid Mass Spectrometer to Thermo Electron Manufacturing Limited, effective 10 June 2026. The contract covers preventative maintenance, calibration, and operational support for the NU-OMICS facility's mass spectrometry platform, ensuring optimal uptime and high-precision molecular characterization for metabolomics and multi-omics research. As the original equipment manufacturer, Thermo Electron is the sole supplier capable of providing the required technical compliance, proprietary components, and factory-trained expertise.
