NHS Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board (ICB) for the provision of Enhanced Imaging Referral Service

NHS Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire ICB has awarded a contract worth £35,000 to Primary Eyecare Services Limited for the provision of an Enhanced Imaging Referral Service from 1 July 2026 to 31 March 2027. The service provides a digital solution enabling community optometrists to attach optical coherence tomography (OCT) scan images to referrals, reducing unnecessary face-to-face appointments at secondary care and improving the patient pathway for medical retina referrals. This time-limited direct award follows a pilot scheme and will maintain service continuity while informing a subsequent competitive procurement for a refreshed service model.
