Overview

Associated British Ports seeks geophysical and shallow sub-surface survey services at Port Talbot comprising two phases. Phase 1 (firm scope, August–October 2026) involves reconnaissance surveys across approximately 60 km² to collect high-resolution bathymetric, sidescan sonar, sub-bottom profiler, and magnetometer data in water depths of 25–35 m. Phase 2 (optional, 2027) will include UXO and seismic surveys with single-channel seismic imaging, bathymetric data, and magnetometer data over a refined cable corridor area.
