GD3 Reach Out

Wales & West Utilities Limited awarded a contract worth £716,908 to Severn Wye Energy Agency Ltd on 21 June 2026 to deliver the GD3 Reach Out project, a community-based energy advocacy programme across Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire. The project targets minority and marginalised households including refugees, asylum seekers, migrants, and Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities to reduce energy vulnerability through trained Community-Based Energy Advocates embedded in trusted community organisations, delivering culturally competent support on energy systems, billing, consumer rights, and gas safety. The initiative aims to reduce structural barriers to energy access, increase Priority Services Register uptake, prevent self-disconnection and energy debt, and strengthen community resilience among households typically underserved by mainstream energy services.
