Prevention and Early Years Schemes

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board awarded £109,800 to Cardiff Council and Vale of Glamorgan Council on 1 June 2026 for delivery of three Prevention and Early Years Schemes designed to reduce health inequalities and improve wellbeing across their areas. The schemes comprise a Healthy and Sustainable Pre-School initiative promoting healthy eating and physical activity in childcare settings, an Enhanced Time Credit volunteering programme addressing social isolation in disadvantaged communities, and an Ethnic Minority Engagement project improving access to preventative health services such as childhood immunisations and cancer screening. This is a grant funding agreement rather than a public contract, directly awarded under exempted provisions.
