Local Enhancement of National Exercise Referral Scheme 2026

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board has awarded a contract worth £163,962 to Cardiff Council and Vale of Glamorgan Council for the local enhancement of the National Exercise Referral Scheme (NERS) from June 2026 onwards. The contract continues the Move More Programme's work to improve NERS uptake, retention, and long-term physical activity engagement, particularly among less active populations and those in areas of greatest need. The award was made without competitive tender under exempted contracts provisions of the Procurement Act 2023, recognizing the councils' established delivery capability and local expertise.
