Overview

The Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science is establishing a three-year framework for Next-Generation Sequencing services, split into four lots covering targeted sequencing, whole genome and transcriptomic sequencing, long-read sequencing, and ad-hoc sequencing requirements to support genomics research programmes. Cefas intends to award up to five contracts per lot to suppliers meeting technical and pricing criteria, with contract implementation expected to begin in August 2026 and an option to extend for two further 12-month periods at fixed prices reviewed annually against CPI. The framework has an estimated value of £1 million, and suppliers may bid for any combination of the four lots.
