To replace an out-of-date machine that was sold in 2025 and bring the ADT fleet back up to four machines. With the fleet being restricted to three, the training department struggles with allocating learners to machines. Ideally, we could hire this machine, however, they are an extremely niche machine and very expensive to hire. Adding to the issues with hiring, the large construction projects currently ongoing in the UK, the number of machines available for hire are limited and what are on the market are not of an acceptable standard.

To replace an aging tractor used for preparing the Plant Operator training fields and used for apprentice/commercial training. The repairs bills for the tractor are starting to increase because of the relatively high hours as the tractor is used frequently to prepare the ground for training. This operation is needed for the continued use of the field. We can use a dozer; however, the high running costs and repairs bills that result from running this type of machine doesn’t make it a viable option.
