Overview

North Kesteven District Council has completed the expansion of its waste and street scene depot in Metheringham to accommodate new refuse lorries for weekly food waste collections required from 31 March 2026. Smith Construction (Heckington) Limited was awarded the contract for £1,333,157.47 on 21 April 2026 to expand the hard standing area on 1.1 hectares of council-owned land, construct perimeter fencing, lighting and CCTV, build an adoptable access roadway to Lincolnshire County Council standards, and create additional employee car parking on a separate 0.05-hectare site.
