H0849 - Contract for Cadaveric Surgical Skills Training

Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) awarded a £85,000 contract to Doctors Academy on 12 July 2026 for the provision of cadaveric teaching and surgical skills training. The contract covers supply of cadavers, anatomy facilities, mortuary services, consumables, equipment, and administrative support to deliver specialist cadaver-based surgical education for trainees in Wales, addressing reduced clinical exposure from changes in surgical training pathways and the COVID-19 pandemic. The award was made via Single Tender Action due to the highly specialised and regulated nature of cadaveric services, which are only available through Doctors Academy in Wales.
