LCC Farm Carbon

Overview

Lincolnshire County Council has produced the Green Masterplan (see Appendix A) which works on reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the County Council and across the wider economy. This plan is in response to the UK government’s target to be net-zero by 2050. Approximately 80% of Lincolnshire is involved in farming, making it a highly valuable region to both the local and national economy. However, the related agricultural emissions must be addressed as they are one of the leading sources of emissions after transport. Therefore, this project aims to ensure that farmers are supported on this journey to understanding their emissions, and ways in which these can be managed without compromising the future success and stability of their business.
