Bioavailability of Food Supplements

The Food Standards Agency has awarded Camrosh Limited a contract worth £583,440 to conduct a systematic literature review on the bioavailability of food supplements from June 2026 to March 2028. The project will assess how novel formulations—including lipid-based systems such as liposomes and micelles, and non-lipid approaches like micronisation—affect the absorption and toxicological risk of active ingredients, addressing a critical data gap in food supplement risk assessment identified by the Committee on Toxicity.
