"Airlock" Output Checking System OCS Decision Engine Development Partner

UK Biobank Limited awarded a £2 million contract to Kainos Software Limited on 21 May 2026 to develop the Output Checking System (OCS) Decision Engine, comprising a Data Trust Engine for detecting sensitive information in data egress requests and a Researcher Behaviour Engine for assessing researcher credibility. The decision engine will provide automated Red/Amber/Green ratings to enhance security controls in the UK Biobank Research Analysis Platform, replacing manual output checking processes and integrating with a new UKB-RAP planned for 2028.
