Overview
Northumbria University previously has procured a Theia ALD system for the high-precision deposition of ultra-thin, conformal films (oxides, nitrides, and metals) onto 3D research substrates. The system is essential for achieving atomic-level thickness control and superior film uniformity in the development of next-generation semiconductors and barrier coatings. This procurement is related to Service and Maintenance contract that includes Preventative Maintenance Parts and Labor. This contract is necessary to ensure timely system upgrades by the OEM.
The Service and Maintenance contract was awarded to OEM Forge Nano following the Below-Threshold Without Competition Procedure. The service contract cannot be provided by a third party without the risk of voiding the equipment warranty. Original parts and proprietary system software upgrades are an essential part of this contract.
