Queen's University Belfast has awarded a waste management services contract covering four lots: commercial waste and recycling, confidential and non-confidential paper waste, chemical/hazardous waste, and clinical waste across its campus locations. The contract, valued at £2,101,615, was awarded on 10 June 2026 to four suppliers: Avanti Environmental Group Limited, Bailey Waste Recycling (NI) Limited, River Ridge Recycling (Portadown) Ltd, and SRCL Ltd. The services focus on waste hierarchy principles, circular resource management, recycling rate improvement, and zero waste to landfill objectives, with provision of bins, management information, and full legislative compliance.
