Overview
HTM 02-01 (Health Technical Memorandum 02-01 - Medical Gas Pipeline Systems) requires the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (The Trust) to appoint a competent person to undertake the role of authorising engineer and provide the associated support (The Services). Therefore, the Trust has awarded a contract for the provision of the Services.
The purpose of the Services is to provide the Trust with:
- independent advice on MGPS management, safety, and technical compliance to healthcare organizations.
- assessments and recommendations on Associated Persons suitability to manage day-to-day tasks concerning the MGPS. There are approximately 14 APs across the Trust. And the number of assessments may vary year on year)
- regular audits and monitoring of performance to ensure the MGPS remains safe and compliant with relevant regulations
- Ad hoc support as and when it may be required
The objective is to ensure the Trust has measures in place to provide adequate support in ensuring the Trust complies with HTM 02-01 as well as relevant UK standards.
