Overview
Contract Extension to provide continued research to inform Public Health & START with regards to substance misuse provisions and initiatives. This research is being funded by Drug and Alcohol Treatment Recovery Improvement Grant (DATRIG) funded via OHID.
HBC have been working with Teesside University for the past two years in relation to research in this area and as grant funding has been confirmed wish to continue this arrangement with Teesside University to commission Teesside University to provide research expertise to allow Public Health to gain a comprehensive and objective understanding of various Substance Misuse provisions.
HBC have an established relationship with Teesside University, and they have embedded themselves within START, so they are aware of some barriers they may be faced in completing the research; they have therefore come up with solutions to overcome these.
This contract is serving as an extension to an existing contract and fall outside of HBC's Contract and Procedure Rules.
