Rochdale PRU - New SEN Pupil Referral Unit (PCSA)

Rochdale Borough Council has awarded a Pre-Construction Services Agreement (PCSA) contract worth £240,330.33 to READ CONSTRUCTION HOLDINGS LIMITED for the development of a new Special Educational Needs Pupil Referral Unit on Mayfield Street, designed to accommodate 64 pupils aged 11–16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. The contractor will collaborate with the client and design team through RIBA Stage 4 to develop design, cost planning, and construction strategy, with progression to a full Design & Build contract (estimated value £11.3 million) contingent on PCSA completion and Council budget confirmation. The project is currently in delivery, having completed the PCSA award stage as of June 2026.
