System Fwyd Cynaliadwy / Sustainable Food System

Flintshire County Council appointed Can Cook CIO on 22 April 2026 to design and deliver a sustainable, ultra-processed food-free system across the county, addressing holiday hunger and community food resilience. The five-year contract, commencing 1 June 2026 with a potential two-year extension, requires the provider to deliver affordable, nutritious food year-round with enhanced provision during school holidays, while transitioning to financial sustainability through a tapered funding model that reduces Council contribution from £400,000 in Year 1 to zero by Year 5.
