Overview

Worcestershire County Council has established a Short Breaks Services Framework to deliver care services for children with disabilities, supporting the Council's Sufficiency Duty through four lots covering overnight fostering, residential short breaks, domiciliary care, and support workers. The framework was awarded on 30 July 2026 to Barnardo's and Progress Children's Services Limited for a value of £4,000,000, with Lots 1 and 2 commencing on 1 November 2026, while Lots 3 and 4 continue on an existing Dynamic Purchasing System until transitioning to the new framework on 1 March 2027.
