24/7 Emergency Access Homelessness Accommodation and Support (at May Place House)
The Service will be delivered from May Place House, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council's primary emergency access short-term accommodation for single people in the borough. May Place House is a supported accommodation setting which is currently undergoing an extensive refurbishment programme, within Basingstoke town centre, providing 18 bedrooms with ensuites and 5 kitchenette areas throughout the building. The operator will be required to deliver 24/7 waking support for up to 18 single service users at any one time and implement a model of service delivery that meets the diverse needs of single people aged 18+ in need of housing related support.

The Council has revised the service brief from previous procurements to place a greater focus on the prevention of rough sleeping and the provision of a rapid, assertive response that supports people to move away from the streets. The Council has also included the support and management of the Viables Farm Cottages which was not included in the previous procurement exercises. 1 & 3 Viable Farm Cottages are two 2-bedroom houses owned by the Council providing low level housing support as part of the housing pathway. The service comprises multiple elements, reflecting the breadth of activity required to effectively prevent and address rough sleeping, including the management and support of 4 move-on bed spaces at Viables Farm Cottages.
