Overview

Rhondda County Borough Council and Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council are the ‘Supervisory Bodies' under the terms of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (‘the Act’) and The Mental Capacity (Deprivation of Liberty: Appointment of Relevant Person’s Representative) (Wales) Regulations 2009 (‘the Regulations’). The Supervisory Body requires a high quality support service for every relevant person for whom a ‘Paid Representative’ is to be appointed in accordance with the requirements of the regulations. The Supervisory Body now seek to commission a service from a suitably qualified and experienced Provider for the provision of a relevant person’s paid representative service. (‘Relevant Person’ being a person deprived of their liberty subject to standard authorisations under the Mental Capacity Act 2005’)
