Stoke-on-Trent City Council has awarded a contract worth £2,008,000 for targeted short break activities for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to five providers: Doves Care and Support Ltd, Furry Friends Therapy CIC, Port Vale Foundation, Staffordshire Wildlife Trust, and The Peter Pan Centre. The service delivers fun, safe and supportive activities that provide independence and social opportunities for young people while giving parents and carers respite, with activities available both for young people independently and for whole families together. The contract operates via a framework model with call-off agreements, with the framework reopening for additional providers from 1 April 2026.
