Overview

Transport for West Midlands is establishing a Design Excellence Panel to provide independent expert advice on transport infrastructure projects across rail, bus, tram, and active travel schemes. The panel, comprising approximately 20 multidisciplinary members from architecture, engineering, planning, heritage, sustainability, and other fields, will operate for three years with bi-monthly workshops and site visits to champion inclusive, sustainable design and support delivery of the Local Transport Plan. The contract has been awarded to 15 suppliers including Amey OW, AtkinsRéalis UK Limited, Colas Rail Limited, Coventry University, and others, with the panel now in delivery.
