The BBC has awarded a contract to Far & Beyond Events to produce live music events for Radio 1's Big Weekend and Radio 2 in the Park, two annual UK festivals attracting approximately 85,000 and 72,000 attendees respectively, with extensive radio and television broadcast coverage reaching over ten million viewers. The contract value is £37.5 million, comprising approximately £35 million in pass-through production costs, management fees capped at £2.5 million over the contract term, and VAT, with the supplier expected to deliver the events on a cost-recovery basis for production elements and a defined management fee.
