Overview

Anglian Water Services awarded a desalination technical partner contract on 19 November 2025 to support the development of two seawater desalination plants in Norfolk and Lincolnshire to address a forecasted water supply shortfall in the East of England by 2050. The contract was split between two joint ventures: TYPSA Limited & Stantec UK Limited as the primary partner (guaranteed minimum scope of £4.7m) and RSK Environment Limited & Gutteridge Haskins & Davey Limited as the secondary partner, with a combined award value of £58m. The partners will provide expertise in pre-treatment, reverse osmosis, remineralisation, and associated engineering services for both desalination sites.
