Overview

Milton Keyes City Council has set a target to be Net Zero by 2030 and has been successful in the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS) application to support the decarbonisation of council-owned buildings. The grant will facilitate the connection of three key buildings; Civic, Central Library and Woughton Leisure Centre to a new low carbon heat network funded by the Green Heat Network Fund. This phase will consist of ensuring a connection to a low carbon heat supplier in Milton Keynes within the timescales set out in the PSDS application. The Council will be awarding ten-year contract to Milton Keynes Energy Limited (MKEL) for the heat network supply to Council buildings namely, Civic, Central Library and Woughton Leisure Centre.
